Hi my name is Max i do some webdesign for a while and i did drawing a little through my life. Now im going to the 12 grade doing my abitur after it i want to become a professional digital artist.
i am 17 years old in april i getting 18.
first Question is:
In what programms and hardware i have to Invest. Actually i get photoshop 6.0 and 1200mhz with 512 mb ram. I am interested in a wacom pad but i dont know really which one i should buy.
Next thing is can someone give me a tipp where to study and what? I dont really know where i could learn the best techniques without getting wo much away from home.
last guestion If someone is interested in helping me he would be so kind to post his e-mail data in this thread. THX a lot for ur help i think if i dont get help here where i should search for else. ^^ So what gfx is best thing in the world.

I think the best thing you can do is study anything art related ... not necessarily with digital art elements.
"Visuelle Kommunikation mit Schwerpunkt Illustration"
sounds interestiong to me.
For many art related schools you'll need a portfolio.
There are ateliers that have courses where you create pieces for such a portfolio.
I know one girl that takes such courses.
Her images totally rock and she learns the important basics there.
It might be expensive ... but I think that it is worth it.
I'd go to such an atelier if I was serious about digital art.
As you learn about art in general you can work on digital art on your own.
Forums like this one and especially Conceptart.org are a big help.
Maybe try to get advice from one of the amazing Germans there.
