I might have given some critiques, but the fact that you freaked out after one little hour without replies made me not want to. This is a message board, not a chat room. |

ur new, so im not gonna lay into ya too much, but u really gotta understand: around here, its average that u wont get a reply for days, not hours.
about ur pic: i dont really no if u were goin for a cartoony look, cuz if u were then u did a good job. but if u were going for a realistic look then im not really sure where to start with the crits... _________________ -Chase |

A fine idea would be to rework the linework. its very inconsistent in style. Make the lines thicker, follow contours, remove lines that shouldnt be there, so on so forth. Also, show the rest of the hat.
its a good start though.
keep fightin at it.

thx tunish also this post was help for me. because i dont actually know the rule cauz i am new u are right. i will adjust to your post.
- Yes it shouldn't be a realistic work, because i think i start with some cartoon stuff to get in it again. In fact this one was planed as castoon work.
Thx a lot for ur critics if i get my wacom pad i will respect to make thicker lines and to delete some which werent needed.

The less thought and time and consideration you put into a "piece" the less someones gonna give you credibility or the time to critique.
I mean this is a great sketch and all but what is the point in artwork if not to present an idea or concept. Ask yourself something next time, "what do i want to portray or express?" then use that conecpt or expression to judge every consideration in your piece. Then people will take the time to not only critique the ARTwork but to actually look and think about the piece.
LOOK DONT SEE!,

Even if your mind is set on drawing cartoony ramember that the bases are in realistic art.
Take your time, and insted of getting that tablet find a stack of cheap paper and sketch - try to do it on daily basis, and dont get stuck up with details - get the form right. Find out if art courses available. Join them.
Dont expect to go "zero to hero" , thou in the beginning you learn quick.
Best of luck, and welcome on my behalf |
