Could you please show me some of your work done on a A6 tablet? And try to convince me why I should get the A6 instead of A5 or vice versa...

For example, I've got a Trust 1200 (A4) I think it's too big now, only liked it before. I'm thinking of getting/want to get a Wacom Graphire 3 A5 but it's so darn expensive. On the other hand I'm so used to the A4 size, I'm afraid the A6 tablet will be too small, but still a very nice price difference. This is quite the dilemma for me cause I don't want to end up regretting using too much money on something I don't need or something too small that I can't use.

Another thing confusing me a bit is the resolution of Trust vs Wacom.
Trust claims it has 3048 lpi - Wacom 2032 lpi.
Lower lpi's better?

Prices are, btw:
Wacom Graphire 3 Studio XL A5 - 2.275kr ($331)
Wacom Graphire 3 Classic A6 - 1.178kr ($171)

And keep in mind I wanna do some quality work.

Heeeelp:)

size of tablet is all to do with how large a brush stroke you want to make, my fist wacom was an A5 ADB model.. i've had 2 A6 wacoms (currently on intuos 2) and used larger A3 @ college and have been happy using all sizes (i scalled the A3 down so i didn't have to quite such large strokes)

how about u post some of your current work? the tablet won't make u a good artist Wink

Nice, what sized tablet did you use when you made that jet? But anyhow, I just thought it would matter cause I'm using the "tablet-active-area-equals-screen-size" mode... So moving the pen 1 inch on a small tablet would make it go halfway over the screen, dunit? Don't know how it is with Wacom. I've never had the pleasure of getting to try one:\

yeah moving stylus 1/2 way accross the tablet = 1/2 the screen

i'm used to drawing with my wrist rather than my whole arm..

Yeah but isn't that a bad thing? If you wanna move the cursor on the screen 1 pixel, isn't the tablet too small to let you do that? At least steady... btw, is there a "sensitivity" setting for wacoms when you use the mouse mode or what it's called. You know when you can move the pen, lift it, go back, put it down again without the cursor jumping back on the screen.

The clown/carneval theme was just a phase Razz

Nah not the mouse silly Very Happy
I mean like, there's a mode on the trust tablet where you can set your pen to act as a mouse. Wink

No problem man Wink
And judging by the poll now, ppl want me to get the A5... if I could only get to try one!!! Maybe I should put up an ad in the local newspaper. "Seeking humanoid with Wacom tablet, size A5 or A6 - Lets play wee!"
Looks like I have to decide tomorrow anyway if I wanna get the tablet anytime soon (I'm ordering through work, so at least I'm getting it a tad cheaper than what it would cost if I ordered from some webshop here)

well if it were me I would go with an A6, I have an A6 and I like the smaller one better than the big.
The thing is I always thought bigger would be better and I tried one out in the school where I am attending and I didnt like the big at all. As Bob mentioned above smaller tablets lets u work with the wrist which is an advantage if you work fast in my opinion.

just thought I would share my opinion, everyone has different taste.

Bob, I remember that tutorial you made with that jet above, tight stuff. Smile

later

Maybe I'll browse around in some posts and ask, so far only 2 different ppl responded here Embarassed

Heh, well what the heck, I'll just go for the A6... I'll probably get it sold if I feel it's way too small but I don't think that'll be a problem, thanks B0b
