I wrote the software that did the painterly conversion. I then played with the colors and used the smudge tool and clone tool to fix rendering errors or highlight regions. I touched up the face a bit.

It looks as if it has potential (even though I don't know any area of use for it personally, but just for fun is as good a reason as any, right?). I gotta say it got her chrown to look like some kind of paper mosaic & the blue scarf thingie hanging down looks fuzzy & reminds me alot of one of them bathroom-rugs.. how does the software work?
Fun idea though, personally I'd try to make some kind of filter in PS. (but then again I'm lazy..) |

Thanks for the comments. Yeah I guess the application is mostly for people to do fun stuff with their pictures and videos. It would take a long time to try and create some sort of plugin from my code, though. I use lots of vision libraries and math libraries. Don't know how that meshes with photoshop and aftereffects plugins. |
