Hey everyone, I'm studying Illustration at an art school in Hamburg, Germany, and we (the students) are organizing a kind of monthly art jam there (with unusual life drawing classes, DJs and the like going on). Since I (and some others) feel that the theoretical background falls a bit short compared to the practical education at our school, I was considering to offer a kind of "Illustration theory" (or possibly a more general painting theory) class there, maybe about how to use colour creatively, maybe even a fast illustration exercise, but the theoretical background should play a major part.
I was wondering whether you people have any ideas on what could be taught in such a class, have any links to online articles or literature where I could do research for this. Plus I also need ideas on how to connect this to our monthly colour (which is blue for January), and how to keep this attractive (I fear that many people will just choose the fun lessons like drawing the guys in blue overalls peeling oranges, or painting the fish in the melting block of ice (these are actual classes that will happen)).
Your help would be mucho appreciated. _________________ Free Tibet! |
