Well, actually, it's a zeppelin, but I just like saying blimp.

This is an illustration for a space western-themed role-playing game. The original artist on our team didn't want/have time to work on it anymore, so I offered to take over. The original picture can be seen here.

I'm feeling pretty good about this piece, so if there's anything that I'm overlooking at the moment, please let me know ASAP. Smile

Beautiful stuff, zeppelin is quite nice, but U should work more on clouds, those are rather speed painted than detailed. The same for explosions, give them more contrasted colors and some milky reflects on clouds near the moon, more darker points were moon shine and explosions light can't reach. Keep working Smile

It reminds me of Titan AE, I like this style.

I'm not certain about more detailed clouds, they might take the focus from the zeppelin.

Hmm... come to think of it, it reminds me of Titan AE too and I haven't even seen it Very Happy

I understand about the clouds, I do tend to lose patience when I work on backgrounds. The clouds in the front might use a bit sharper detail, but overall I don't want to overwork them 'cause I think I'm already toeing the line on that. They're rather a bit more puffy than I think they ought to be...

other than what others have already said, the colorings is great! Though I do like the clouds the way they are now.

I think there is really one last thing that needs to be in there to just make this the most incredible work.

You need to get a plane or two up in the foreground to really give this piece some depth! Right now it seems as though they are all on the same level which makes the composition seem a little flat.

I really like how you colored the Zeppelin and it seems like it ranges from green all the way to orange yellow, all the colors in the scale, very impressive. :)
