anatomy practice without reference defeats the entire purpose of anatomy practice.
having said that, keep practicing. especially on the wrists, and the length of the upper arms. and the proportions of your feet. _________________ -={hamilton.likes.to.draw...}=- |

LOL, I should've explained more. I spent about 6 hours and drew probably 100 other figures from reference, but did these to see if I could still manage without the training wheels. They're far from perfect, I know. But I felt like trying some of my own poses was the next step. Normally, I draw in a much more cartoony style and I figured it was about time to go back and brush up on my anatomy. As you can see, I'm having a difficult time using realistic proportions rather than the simplified/exaggerated look I normally go for. _________________ http://www.eraserx.deviantart.com

They may not be perfect, but they do look nice. Keep up the good work. |

I'm pretty sure that the biceps connect at the top to (believe it or not) the shoulder blade. The pectoral muscles connect to the upper arm bone at a point underneath (higher up the arm than) the deltoids. |

My only suggestion is to watch the size of your figures heads. That guy looks like he has a really bad headache or he's just got a really really big head. Nice work though. |
