Hello everyone.
Next year I'll participate in the exchange student
program at my school, but I'm finding it hard to
locate any fine arts schools in Europe.
Is there anyone who has knowledge of any
european based schools who have a department
for traditional/digital fine arts? not graphic design:)
I'm looking for schools with landscape painting and
anatomy studies etc.
Your help is appreciated! _________________ http://pringleart.com |

Well, here in Spain there are some fine arts schools.
The best one is at Madrid: San Fernando Escuela de Bellas Artes (School of Fine Arts). It is a "classic" one: I mean, lots of model drawing, lots of oil painting, lots of sculptures. But it also has digital and "installations" (I don't know the word in English: you know, those video/furniture/garbage sets where you throw whatever you like and show it to the public).
In Barcelona there's another one, and in Sevilla. These ones have a more abstract-modern tendency, but still are fine art schools.
All of the courses (official ones at least) long 5 years. And in Madrid you have to pass an exam to enter (charcoal drawing of a sculpture). People usually dedicate a year to sharpen their drawing skills at some academy before trying the exam. _________________ _ _ _____ _ _

Hey Tayete, thanks for your reply.
I checked out the schools website, but couldn't understand much of it as my spaninsh isn't very good (to say the least). At my school they accept exchange students and therefore, when an exchange student is participating in a course the language spoken is english.
Don't know if this is the same in Spain? Does anybody have knowledge of an art school in GB or Ireland, scandinvaia?. (sorry for not mentioning this in my first post).
I've checked out the sites my school has connection to but they are all graphic design and experimental installations / interactive media type schools. _________________ http://pringleart.com |
