I recorded a conga over the weekend. played about 11 minutes worth of stuff...took it home and chopped it into seperate one-hit pieces then sequenced it into this:
Hamst3r - Conga Caliente.mp3 (right click, save as 4 ur health)
For those who care:
The congas are LP Calient�'s, close-mic'd with an Ifet7 mic, atlas stand, recorded into ProTools 6. 271 samples thick, over 20 velocity levels on some hits. :P
On Wednesday we're gonna record them again, but in stereo with two EarthWorks Mics...some of the best you can get! :D
so it'll be stereo-goodness. possibly use both earthworks AND the Ifet7...for 3-point sound...possibly ifet for low boom and earthworks for room ambience to give a real nice 3D spatial effect.
