This is the first pic I'll be posting here, because I feel I made some progress once again.

The white stuff isn't supposed to be there, but it happened when I merged all the layers and I don't know how it got there or how to get rid of it.

Background done in Painter 6, character in Open Canvas.

Mistakes/parts I'm not happy with: the right arm looks a little skinny, and of course the white part.

C&C much appreciated, though I'll ignore anything that spawned from anime hate/disliking.

deviantart doesnt allow remote linking anymore

but on the pic: it looks pretty cool, though it could use a better background and the hair needs some work (too many highlights, but i guess thats an anime thing)

Well you can consider this my last piccie in that case...

Yeah I wasn't too sure about the highlights too, and I know I suck at backgrounds so I didn't make one.

Gah I just noticed:

I let the lines of her arm and jaw go through the hair. I was supposed to erase those as soon as I'd finished the lineart.
I guess I forgot. Yeesh, how lazy.

Anime is what I started drawing when I first got into art. My only crits would be that the hair's highlights are not very anime-ish...maybe check out some "ah-my goddess" and look at their hair (or any anime for that case!), also, her ear does not look yet finished. Other than thoses crits, I like it. I draw all my stuff on paper or in photoshop, so I could not help you with the white stuff that appeared. Keep up the good work.

Prohibiting remote linking simply means you can't directly link the image, as in displaying it here on the boards. You can still post the link itself, and we can see the image.

As for the picture, I'm not a fan of anime at all, but I like this. What I think would make it really click is some variations in the skin tone and redefining your shadows, maybe with a cool bluish tone.

And I guess deviantART doesn't LIKE it, but they haven't banned it yet, cause the picture is showing up.

And yes, I messed up on the ear... But I guess I got lazy at that part anyway.
