Need comments - what do you like / not, etc - its a tropical festival, so the colors are kinda bright. Finishing up the nitpickey stuff (like the hair), but this is an exercise in not noodling every little millimeter of the piece (like I tend to be fond of doing), so I'm trying to leave some areas flat and achieve a nice balance between the linework and the detail (like her face)

i dont think the face fits in the picture. It's well done, don't get me wrong, but it looks too real for the rest of the picture. I like the rest of the pic, and the face by itself, but if I were you, I'd do the face in the same style as the rest of the pic. |

Mixing the flat lines and the detailed face is common traditionally in the art nouveau style - perhaps I should add the detailed shading to the other parts of her body as well, then perhaps? What do you think? _________________ www.echo-x.com |

Yeah, this definately has a very good Art Nouveau style to it. Very "Alphonse Mucha"!
I think it would benefit from consistency of shading on the skin. Either going for the rendered approach of the face or the stylish 2-tone shading of the arm.
Either way, it's a great illustration. |
