I've been working on this painting for a while; it's in acrylic, and therefore (at least in my opinion) harder to get just the right colors on. I would very much appreciate any and all comments and criticism on this, as I am trying to work it into its finished state.

The light is coming from a fire below the rocks upon which the dragon stands. I'm having unfathomable difficulty with the rocks themselves, and I'm not really too happy with the wings either.

If you could offer me any suggestions for fixing these problems and any others you see, please help me out. Paintovers would be more than welcome as well, to help me get a better grasp on the colors.

Take a look:

Thanks for looking, and please lend me an opinion if you can spare one. Thanks!

PS. Contrast is better in the actual version than scanned....

My first thoughts are contrast. However that might have to do with the scan in more then the original image. Seems flat to me.

The rocks arnt that bad. Could use some additional detail. Pick up some reference images off of google and use that.

Wings, I see what you mean. The color in the wings again seems flat. No real variation. The wing on the right is much better then the one on the left for that reason.

Take it a step farther in that direction and I think you'll have what your looking for.

All in all I am very impressed!! I love the details of the city in the background!
