You know how they have those lines that go across them? well they do
I never had much of a problem with it until recently. (doin a pic of Shodan yasee, who is mostly grey; which means I get to act like a proper hack and use black and white with burn and dodge! woohooo!!)
anyway, in the dark all zooomed in (as you do) these lines became rather annoying in a contrasty colour scheme like that.
I can't pick and choose, like most around here. but for research purposes; which big monitors that are relatively flat and don't have lines do people recommend? |

those lines are only on screeen originally made by the sony corporation,. and yes they're rather annoying,. seeing as sony sells their monitor to many other companies and puts a different name on them,. heh |

I have a Viewsonic 17" monitor, and i had no idea that those lines were 'supposed' to be there. I took it back to the guy i got it from, and he told me that it was a Sony tube, and they have these lines in them because they are so hi-res. This didn't make any sense to me. Why would Sony make one of the clearest monitors on the market, and screw them up by having 2 gross lines on them??? I didnt beleive him till i saw this post, so I guess I owe the guy an appologie.
Still dont get it....

That's just the way the technology is. It's a bit different from what most screens use. Their technology gives a sharper image, but at the price of those two lines... I understand there's a 3rd type of monitor, sort of a hybrid between the two types, that's pretty sharp, but doesn't have the lines

AFAIK the lines are caused by the way the projection system works with such a flat screen, or something like that.
They vary in resolution though; .28dp .27dp etc .25dp being the best
but like some have said, most brands have a trinitron model in their catalogue somewhere.
I've heard of large and fairly flat tubes that don't have them, I just don't know which ones |
