This is an older painting I finished a few months ago, that I never got around to posting... Looking back at it now, there are some things I could have done better. Things that I couldn't put my finger on back then. But I learned alot from doing it so they don't bother me that much...

you *** cheater. I mean, this is genious. I mostly like the simiplification of the leafs or moss at the roots on the wall and same smplification ont the front right pillar. Apart fromt that everything else is beautiful too, of course. |

It really is great. The guardian's body could use some definition, specifically his left shoulder and arm. His right looks a lot better to me than the left. Anyway, it looks good, and the detail on the torch bearer's back is the highlight of the pic for me. Nice. |

I'm not quite so keen on the creatures head - I think you could make that a lot more frightening - but overall this is a really strong image. Nice work. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

good picture, but u should watch out were the light comes from and what it will reveal and shade in the cave. in that way, I think u could make the picture more frightening! just a thought.
I also agrre with the head thing.
ps. is it a flesh-monster, or a stone-monster? |

I would have truly loved this image if the head was a better design. Reminds me of that game, Severence: Blade |

I should have probably given some insight into the image... The creature was inspired by the indian spirits of a totem pole.. In the initial sketches he had multiple faces and was made of blocky wood... As it progressed I felt a more organic look was needed, but I wanted to retain the feel of a totem spirit... Thanks for the comments.... |

hey avels,
this is really cool. it reminds me of one of my favorite rpg's of all time, ultima underworld. i don't mind the detail on the head, it gives it an appropriately foreign, creepy feel. |
