He's lit from above ... right? Shouldn't there be more shadows (under his nose for example)
I don't think that's how the lighting is supposed to be in the sketch.

Why are some parts shaded with gradients and others are not?
To me it looks like work in progress. The skin lacks shadow areas for example.
I'd ignore the lighting of the sketch completely.

Color choise is great but they are a little too saturated I think.
And you might want to spice up the background a little.
