It seems like I have seen those exact tutorials copyrighted by someone else. Not implying that you stole them of course, but it kinda makes you think. Oh, do you have a legal copyright? Or is that just bs you put there to keep people from stealing it. If you just put that down there for the heck of it, and you took someone to court over it...the judge would laugh you out of the court room. =] Thought you might like to know that

About copyright... If you create something, you have the copyrights to it. End of story. I undertand there's some way of registering your work for a fee in the US, that helps if you take someone to court, but in principle, you don't need to pay anything.

That's correct -- once you create something, you do legally own the copyright. Registering will give you added protection, but it's not necessary.

Both Affected and Funfetus are correct -- you pyco, my friend, are dead wrong. Maybe before you make accusations about other people's work, and start rambling about all your copyright knowledge you should do some research.

Well, i heard this from when I was making a web page for my school and I put Copyright 1999 Pyco at the bottom and he forced me to take it off or I would be fired. I asked why and he said because I didn't have a "legal" copyright. He told me if I wanted that on my page I would have to put something like "Designed by Pyco" or something similiar.

Maybe I was wrong, but I just trusted what my teacher told me. But I am going to do some research. My dad is a cop so i'm going to ask him about it too.

Mongoose, I didn't make accusations about his work! So don't go implying that I meant that he stole it from someone else. I clearly stated that he didn't. What I was telling him is that someone else has because I remember seeing some of his tutorials on another site a while back.

hey pyco! maybe you even can remeber where exactly? I guess it's time for me to kick some asses since each single letter from this tuts was punched by me and every single tut, except for the scan lines, are MY OWN teqhniques and if you saw it somewhere else, that means only one thing, it was stolen from my site.

About copyright, i guess your teacher asked you to do so when you put YOUR copyright on school's page which you designed. Obviously, you designed the site, but sisnce you did it for school, everything belongs to your school, graphics and content. You do no have right for this, but you can still put "Designed by me" string.

For now, take a look as those sites:

Oh, by the way Alex, I _think_ pyco was refering to how your tutorials look slightly like Mark's (designsbymark). But I don't really think they are similar at all.

Just thought you should know
