Hello Sijun friends. :)

I have had this idea for a while and maybe its not that original really.
I have been in need for Anatomy studies for a long time and I have decided to crank up my anatomy.
I hope you guys wanna join me in my quest for better anatomy.
I was thinking of this thread to be a learning source, we can help eachother out and give eachother tips and such in the anatomy.
Post your anatomy studies, muscles, characters, skulls and all in the genre of anatomy in here. It doesnt have to be pencil it can be digital or all kinds of medium.

Heres my first skull test and the teeth became kind of bad.

I hope you all think this is a good idea. :)
Matthew

i was walking around with a similar idea for a thread, but wasn't sure how it would go down Smile
it was a good opportunity to dig up some "old" drawings.

Has anyone ever tried this site:
http://visiblehuman.epfl.ch/
with a little work you can load 3d models of a bones and muscles and rotate them in realtime, then let the server render videos of them while they rotate.

i'm sorry for the bad scans. i usually draw these pretty lightly on rough thin(and cheap) paper so that explains it. but hey they're studies.

study from my own arm with anatomy books

poses from imagination

it ain't complete without a good butt study

Since anatomy is a major pain for a lot of artists, I think there cannot be any more useful subject for a thread. Ill be waching this. Thanks. Smile

Here's my contribution. They're studies I did recently from one of Bridgeman's books. I was mainly interested in how the arm and torso interact when I did this.

I have decided that I just have to practice more about anathomy. So, I bought Jen Barcsayns book "Anathomy for artists" and Ive started to draw every single picture that there is. First I draw with traditional way (with pencil) but then I begun to use Painter 7 and chanced my method. Here are couple.

Bare with me.

Hey guys and or girls, I am glad you liked the idea with this thread. :)

Thank you AndyT. :)

We had color theory today in school and I was mostly confused all the time, my god I suck.
There are a lot of bad proportions in this one but I thought I would post it anyway so you can see what I am doing anatomically.
Can you see the errors?

Keep up the good work guys

Nice hand oDD.

I was doing a hand from the side and the arms, starting with bones and work my way up, think I will do some more hand parts tomorrow.

Heres couple of mine.

This one is all wrong but i learned quite few thing by doing it so maybe next one will be better. Now I see why the human body is so hard thing. Better than good to know whats inside!

Now i think im starting to get hang of this...

M thanks

the way i'm doing my studies is i draw my left hand (will use some photos in future) and than draw in the bones (muscles in the future). The books i'm using:
1. Bridgman's CompleteGuide to Drawing from life (great)
2. Anatomy for artists by Sarah Simblet (cool and biutiful)

if anyone got other ideas for anatomy excerizes i'm want to hear them. And Andy thanks for the links,I will use probably some stuff from there in the future.

oDD - Yeah it is tough with anatomy, I myself is trying to take care of the bones first and then
advance to muscles and then proportions.
I can actually point and name some bones now without the books. :)
Keep going with yours here, I love them. :)

Hey you guys above, you are all doing a beautiful work, keep posting more of your anatomy struggle. :)

This mornings study, I am thinking of to do a robot later, hmm will see if I post it. ..hehe

Hey, everyone!
I just thought I'd dump some hand-sketches. yep, i'm right-handed!

Oh, and Burne Hogarth has made some really nice books on how anatomy works in foreshortening.. be sure to check em out! Smile It is really like the Renaissance-way of drawing.

keep it up, people

looks like I am going to have to break out some of my old sketch books to extract some of the useful studies that I did in the past and recently. Maybe have something tomorrow or monday. Looking forward to some seeing some great work in this thread!

Hi there
I was reading in this forum for a long time but could never decide to register myself and post something. But this thread is made for me ^^
I'm trying to get my anatomy up so I read some books and Lousie Gordon really flashed me ...
Because I found out that I'm learning most by painting form Fotos I decided to copy her works. It really took me forward and I hope it's ok if I post a few pics here.
Well I see AndyT do have the same book and the same idea ^^
Nevermind.
I forgot something. I want to excuse myself for my bad english. I'm out of school since a year and don't use it this often - hope you don't mind.
