Using photos to achieve photo realistic textures for games sure is a good way since it saves a load of time and looks good.
But it often makes me forget about to hand paint some of my textures!
This one took me about 3 hours.
This one (1-2 hours)
inspired by a www.shaderlab.com texture

I'm really liking these. The first looks a little shiny because of those bright spots, like they're made of glass or something. Cool effect, but I don't know if that's what you were going for. The second is great, though I think the cracks and chips are a little too big, making the road look miniature. You're definitely onto something here, though. Keep on making these textures. |

I layered photos of rust from a friend on Devart to create this background of bricks:
Originally created at 1600x1200.
Then I used that background to make the following at 6000x4000 using the rubber stamp tool to blend itirations of the original background:
