Been sitting on these 2 for a while since this book has been delayed for a long time. But now that its on the stands, I think it should be okay posting them. All done in photoshop:
Megatron from Beast Wars:
Waspinator (also from Beast Wars):
If you have any interest in Transformers, this is a really good art book full of pretty much every generation of characters.
Also...if you are mainly an 80's transformers fan and have no idea who these characters are, here's a few references so you have an idea as to what is going on in them (I know the big enormous T-Rex head can be kind of confusing if you don't know what the character looks like).
Megatron:

Waspinator (the piece is more based off of his TV show incarnation, but you get the idea):

They look great! Really nice texturing too! I'm going to assume these were painted...any tips/tricks for the textures? or is it all just hand-painted? Either way, nicely done! ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ -Krista

Yeah, they were completely done in photoshop with a mixture of just wacom painting and photo reference for textural overlays....
I basically speed painted the entire thing first to get the general colors down, then went in sections (for ex: head, arm, torso, trex head) and airbrushed everything in nice and tight. Then I would find photo reference of skin and whatnot and overlay it onto my airbrushed areas.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the comments.
