The only problem I see is the line you used on the weapon, it looks.. Bad. Too thin and too semi-transparent. Make it a solid line, and maybe a couple of pixels thicker. _________________ The truth hurts. Sure not as much as jumping onto your bike with the seat missing, but it hurts. |

I think there's something wrong with the lighting... according to the face, the only light is coming through the hole. But everything else, the robe, the crossbow and the wall are too well lit. The only light that should be cast on the wall is reflected bij the face and the clothes.
And the shadow cast on the wall by the arm indicates that the light comes from behind.
Oh, and she doesn't seem to have a left arm.
Apart from that... nice pic. |

I really like the pose and the expression on her face, and the pose of the hand is real nice, although the anatomic proportions of the fingers are way off..
I really think you should be less afraid of the shadows, dot feel like you have got to really show everything like the wall and crossbow, just some minor indications in the dark would be far more interesting..
I can really feel the mood in this pic, but I feel like she should be more kinda "hiding in the dark" than just "waiting and watching" like she's now.
MORE DARKNESS i say!
ps.
the left eye seems to be a hole lot smaller than the right. _________________ Tingalingaling, dance style an swing, DJ ya suckah with da freestyle rabbin!

What I think it needs is more contrast and color. It all looks very washed out and has no real mood. I did a quick experiment, mainly just for my own benefit but I figured I'd post it and let you decide whether you liked it or not. I don't know if I went way overboard, or if I just approached it completely incorrectly, but I thought it gave it a little more style and emotion, as well as really emphasized that she is actually in hiding. Dunno, I'll look at it again tomorrow and see if I still think it looks okay. Let me know if you want it taken down.

ok heres my poor job, I maybe Matthew-fied it a bit too much.
What I was thinking is that you could use the dark space for something cause even in a room like that other materials should be hit with the light in the surrounding, perhaps, unless the room is empty, but, hmm. ok I suck. A secondary light often helps out in dark surrounding so you can see the negative space.
I hope some of it helped., now that I am thinking of it maybe I have gived you this tips before, sorry if I am repeating myself.
Later
