i had this sitting around, incomplete for a few months; spent the last few nights playing with it... i decided to stop before tainting the image with wounds/cuts/blood/etc., perhaps for another time. the character was based on a photo reference (graphic - be advised), from a self-injury forum i frequent.

Pardon me for a moment.
*vomits*
The picture looks pretty good. What it lacks, though, is contrast. Don't be afraid to use some darks in there. I'd suggest not using a white background while working on an image, it really detracts from the foreground and keeps you from seeing the colors as they really are. There are a few anatomical issues (her left hand is a little off, her ear is too low), but nothing too serious. It all looks very flat and muddy, though. Don't shade with black, use different colors and shades to give it depth. Try varying her skintones a bit overall, she looks a little sickly right now. It's not looking too bad, though. |
