The rules of Draw Club:

. Each theme will last exactly one week.
. We're looking for an effort, not a 10 minute sketch.
. You are not limited to the digital media.
. Do not "reserve" your place, post an image only when you have something to post.
. Feedback is encouraged.
. Keep away from interpretations of an adult nature.
. Post as many times as you like.
. Have fun.

Draw Club #24: Pure Joy

Capture a moment of "pure joy".

And don't try to interpret the topic into anything grimy - we're looking to say something about innocence and beauty in this world.

(Cap Fred: let's see how good you are Smile )

Capt.Fred - you have some work to do. :)

Sumaleth - I think we had more replies in the last draw club, maybe we can have each theme for 2 weeks?

hehe, well, dunno about how good it is.. but whatever. Very Happy
i thought i'd obey the "We're looking for an effort, not a 10 minute sketch." thing, so this one took about 2 an a half hours or something. I didn't use ref because I find it makes the process of painting seem too educational and I just wanna have fun. here's the sketch. I never really tackled clouds head-on before, but the background turned out alright, seems to convey the idea and it only took about 10 mins. here's fullsize.

If I could, I'd probably paint a lill' girl standing in a meadow, taking a smell on a bunch of flowers she's holding (like daisies). The scenery would be bright and colorful. I mean, you've got it all - the beauty of nature, the cuteness and harmony of a merry kid enjoying something banal like the smell of some daisy plants and a pleasing, warm color scheme... Yeah, it would be smth like that.

That thought could be useful as some sort of inspiration for those aspiring artists Sijun harbors. And who are obviously even more cynical than I am, which is indeed worrying me*...

* Not really.

Fred: and now you know why we don't do happy, interpretive themes. Wink

(actually, even with so few contributions there were some really good ones)

DC 24 closed, DC 25 has now been stickied.
