This is my first"detailed" digital painting and the first one I made with my Wacom tablet. So even I know there's a lot to fix I'm very happy with it

very nice!
i can see why she's a widow!
its obvious that you intended the proportions to be wrong (which is fine), so i wont comment on that
however, i do see a problem with your color and shading. do not shade/highlight with the dodge burn tool, as it takes away from realism and you can achieve a better image by mixing your own colors. also, i would suggest adding more color to the face... it looks a little brown... real skin reflects color and light... so try to get that background to reflect off of her face, hair, shirt etc...
u should check these tuts out, i feel you could benefit from these:

especially these ones:

hope i could be of some help!

Damn, that's good. Amazingly good.
I do agree that the colors are a little dull. Less black in the shadows are more "lively" colors (rich browns, pinks, blues, etc.) The colors may be subtle tints, but they'll add a lot more life to the work. _________________ Madness takes its toll - please have exact change. |
