Hi,
I'm in the planning for a CG short and need some rough sketches for the characters.
I'm fairly good at this 3D stuff but I'm not able do draw a straight line.
So I need someone who can help me out with some sketches for the chars.
The look is something between Southpark/Jimmy Neutron very stylized, not much detail... it's about snowboarding/skating.
There is no money involved and there won't be any money in the future it's just for fun and I don't wan't someone to paint lots of chars for free, that won't be fair.
I just asking someone who maybe painted that kind of char before and want to provide me with that kind of inspiration....credit included if the short gets finished someday.
Hope you guy get the point here, it's a fun thing

As a freelancer looking for work, anytime i read a post like this, the moment i get to "there is no money involved" i am afraid i lose any an all interest. I have a feeling that this is probably the case for many other artists as well.
It's not that i wouldn't like to devote time and effort to a "fun" project, its just that it's simply not practical to do artwork (of any kind) for free. It's bad for business (among other things) and the "exposure" is usually nil to none.
Now, don't get me wrong. i am not tyring to rain on your parade, or tell you to get lost. I just want to you understand that you may not have a lot of artists jumping at your offer and i thought it only fair to let you know why that would be the case.
It's all well and good to put forth your own time and effort for a personal project and not get any money out of it. But when you start looking for others to work on your dreams, then some consideration should be made for the amount of effort they will be doing on behalf of your ideas. Now if you asked a friend to do this collaboration, that would be one thing, but seeking strangers on the internet to do this sort of thing can be risky for you as much as it can be for anyone you might find. So tread those waters with care.
Like i said, i'm not trying to be mean, i'm just passing on a little advice for you to use or disregard as you see fit. ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________

you're absolutely right...as a freelancer I would say the same.
What I'm asking for is maybe some finished artwork to take a look at or something that someone made just for fun. Sure I could browse through the net and look for artwork but there are so many artists around here and maybe someone made a "comic surfer dude" before and want's to share his artwork with me.
And if someone paints something in his sparetime would be even cooler.
For an artist this would mean 30 minutes of his sparetime...but yes I guess you're right to ask a friend to help me out.
Again I don't want to rip someone off....
