Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster here. =)
This is my first attempt at digital art. It's only about 25% done, let me know if it has any potential.

Oh yes. Potential. YES.
It's good. Keep go'n. Work on it!
My suggestion:
Smooth up those curves with path tool.
Sharpen foreground. (The leaves and frog)
Brighter reflection (a frog is ALWAYS wet, thus reflect lots of light)
More soft light shadow under the toes.

The picture looks familiar. Is the original from National Geographic or something?

Thanks for the input all. Actually, the reflections/sharpening is coming last. I am just blocking in a shape that I could work with and adding some values for shading that I could jump between.
As for the pose, I forget where I saw it. The pic was requested by a friend for their B-Day, so I just swung by the library, and in one book there was this little froggie on a leaf with this 'Hey. I'm the shit' look on his face. I remembered the pose, but kind of am fudging it becuase I was late for work and couldn't get a library card in time. =)

The piccie is ok. And it is familiar to some piccies I found everywhere of the same frog. Some refinements on shadows and hilights are advisable. |
