I have a feeling the veterans around here are going to give you a bit of flak...

Anyway, I'm new around here too and I'm not posting any new stuff until I improve substantially (or have some decent studies) but I'll try to give you some general pointers.

- Your image is very flat. Use of forshortening might help (I think thats what its called) Basically thats the concept behind things getting larger as they get closer to the viewer. For example, the path leading into the castle looks like its going straight up at a 90 degree angle to the ground and going straight up the wall.

- You've got alot of white areas in places there shouldn't be. For example, on the ground. It makes it seem like you just scribbled with crayons or something and were too lazy to cover the whole canvas. Try to fill the entire canvas with color and leave no area untouched.

- Define a lightsource. This will allow you to make shadows and highlights more consistant to add to the realism.

- Try working at a higher resolution (1000+) if you can and start with bigger brushes to block in general objects and slowly work your way down to smaller brushes to add detail. Your black linework that outlines the stuff in your picture seems very thick.

More specifically:

- The cross like windows on the tower seem like they are more like stickers than windows because they overlap rocks unusually as if they were carved into the tower with a laser after the entire tower was complete. I'd imagine there would be some kind of noticeable border to them.

I hope some of that helps. Good luck.
