hey guys, I took a long time off art, about 2 months and now I wanna get back into it again cuz school's startin and i gotta warm up. Uhh, da problem i have though is, that my pc is 800mgz and has about 128rom, and I donno what to run on Photoshop in terms of canvas size as well as pixels/inch.... so far I try to do 11.5 by 14 sized paper with 500 pixels per inch, but my brush after I pain it on takes like 3seconds to show up, and its rlly hard to get in a rithm when yer pc is constantly laggin on ya....and alot of times it frustrates me so much that I juss say forget it and leave. I would like to know what paper size and pixel's u run it on, I Wanan start takin it serious now and go into realism and give up that cartoon style, but I need help on what's a good paper size and pixels/inch ration so my PC dun lag on me...and i can actually finish a drawin before I go insane...
Thnx 2 all those that look, and who ever can help me it will be greatly apreciated! |

To my knowledge, most everything in your setup, the vitals, can affect Photoshop's performance. So, I can't really say, it's subjective. Someone can have the same speed cpu and amount of ram as you, but with a different OS or other parts, can get different results.
You'd be suprised how much improvement you can get from a properly setup scratch disk, and/or pagefile (Windows). I say mess around with your settings, and if you can upgrade the ram. As for size, after messing with the settings, test it out, and see what your machine is capable of. Work with whatever is best for your situation. |
