Here is the finished, (for now) Mike Yamada color piece. This was in the WIP section, there are 5 more still over there in progress.
This is Mike's original sketch for the forest in our Skillful Huntsman book.
Here is my first few minutes of laying down some color on his sketch.
Here is the finished result....
Here is a detail shot....

This is very nice, I really enjoy the colors you've chosen. It's interesting to see how much changed from sketch to finished color piece. the lighting and everything. Great job. _________________ -----------

hey man, awesome pic. i've gotta say tho, i like the second version better than the third. i like the colors in it better, and i like the sketchyness. the third one looks too soft, not enough texture and details (the texture and details are my favorite part of the pic, and i think they are better in the second one. also, i don't like the dark organe/red in the top of the picture. i think it would look better if the yellow just faded out to white.
well thats just my opinion. its your pic, and if you like it how it is, stick with it.
btw- i forgot the mention that the charactor and landscape design is awesome, i love it. _________________ check out my webpage @ http://www.evanart.com/ |

If I was a kid and a movie or stopmotion film with these designs where out, it would have been an all time favorite of mine.....
I'm just imagining these designs alongside classics like "the labyrith", "the neverending story" and such. Really etheral and yet present designs, like a really intense dream which is not scary, but still leaves you feeling woozy.
Good job you guys.
