Well I decided to start practicing with photoshop some more, so i drew up a quick picture and scanned it, then started to digitaly paint it.
Ive got a lot of work to do on it still, ALOT. but i think its ok so far.
(im not to worried about how teh bottom portion of her outline is messed up, cause its gonna get overlaped by grass later on)

Simoom - i was kinda lazy so i made a crappy arrow to show light direction.
eyalyab - yeah i noticed the eyes were messed up after i posted, but i think they are ok now, i did a mirror flip to check perspective and it seems alright now. and with the shading im workin on that, i just like to go back and forth with stuff.
Ill post te updated pic once its a little further along. _________________ Visit glitterbugs Secret Forum |

It's the eyes! The eyes!!! It's a really nice piece, really it is, but the eeyyyyyyyeesssss!
OK, I'll calm down now. I'm just being a drama queen. The eyes were not that bad. But I did a little fiddling with Photoshop (hope you don't mind) and I think I helped the eyes a little:
http://www.delicateflower.org/images/sunnyday32.jpg
I did a quick and sloppy job of it, so don't expect neatness and perfection!
I made her eyes father apart, and I lowered her eyelids just a little bit. I also added more of a shadow on the top of her eyeballs. They looked like her eyes were way too open with this pin-prick of a pupil sticking out. I softened the bottom of the eyelidshe looked like she had too much eyeliner. I lightened up the whites of her eyes (which you appropriately made grey, not white, but there were a little too dark in the inner part of the eye). I also made the whites of her eyes not just a regular cool grey, but I put a little flesh color in there, because there's a little bit of "flesh" color in the whites of the eyes.
I softened up the shadows around her eye, especially the inside of her eye. I gave her a little bit of an indication of an upper eyelid. I think that's it. Basically, "softening" and "separating"her eyes were a little too close together (not that bad, really) and the extra dark shading in the inside corners of her eyes made them look closer together than they actually were.
The eyes were what bothered me. The rest of the face, the rendering, all of it, is pretty nice! _________________ Madness takes its toll - please have exact change. |

Ok here we go
http://solsanctum.tripod.com/sunnyday5.htm
I think i need to tone down the highlights on the eyes a little, and i still cant think of what to add in to the background. and I need to fixx the hair, but i cant seem to put my finger on whats wrong with it.
Actually i think im going to redo the hair totaly. caus i think its to far gone o fix it now, ill juts start it over and do it right this time, maybe ill even ditch the hairs outline and let it be my free loose
any suggestions? comments? crits?
thanks _________________ Visit glitterbugs Secret Forum |

I think the head is a little bit too big. But I'm no expert. _________________ The truth hurts. Sure not as much as jumping onto your bike with the seat missing, but it hurts. |
