Hey hey. After several months of interesting and professional art I have decided to try an action sequence of my own just a bit different. I have seen so many great things... very inspiring. If anyone has any suggestions or C&C then please tell me.

Not bad. The blur filter sticks out, though. I'd try to get that effect by painting it in. Also, and more importantly, the figure is really hard to read because he's dark on a dark background. In fact, he's nearly the same color of the buildings. You need to change the color of one or the other.
Also, your lighting is inconsistant. Pick one direction that the light is coming from and stick with it. |

Wow thank you. Ya I see what you are saying now.... I want to keep the color scheme with the character so it would be best if I just change the background colors... I have one question though. What brush do you recommend to paint the blur and how. I am using photoshop 7 but I am not use to painting effects, so if you could, please share. Thanks a lot though.. It's helping me already. _________________ Action desired |

Looking good, but as Drew already pointed out, the blur effect stands out. You should try painting it with a lot of short brushstrokes. Perhaps a brush with opacity set to pen-pressure control, and solid edges (just a plain circle) would do the job. And try making the buildings in the background more blueish and less contrast. Now that I think about it, since the guy and the car are in motion, at similar speeds, the car should not be blurred. Perhaps this would help to improve the "interaction" with the shooter and the driver.
Last advice would be to give his coat some folds. Avoid the shading on the edges, so it doesn't look so round, and introduce fold-shading in the middle.
But the action sequence looks really cool, and promising.
Good luck. |

All I really did was paint some buildings.. nothing big, Just used the line tool and once I painted them I used motion blur set to 50 and blurred it horizontally. _________________ Action desired |

Okay I mostly focused on the right sleeve wrinkles. I also added new lighting coming from the top down. I have the car unblurred now, it looks sketchy but with some help I could change that. I also changed the contrast on the buildings. Hopefully I could get some tips and crits again. Thank you guys. ![Razz](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) _________________ Action desired

why is his jacket so light on his left side(the arm with the gun), but so dark on the right? is there such a dramatic light difference? and the shoe, something just doesnt seem right, if his left leg were that low, there should be alot of folds and stretching at the groin area of his pants _________________ Derelict Studios|Godwin's Space |
