ok ok .....I know my forum name doesn't help my cause, you probably think I'm some kind toothless yokel living a life of seclusion hiding from governmental conspiracy or alien out of fear of waking up naked in a corn field with a sore ass and smelling of cheap masculine perfum. Or also hiding from other governmental employee because of taxe fraud.....hypotheticly speaking of course.
Well to be brief, it as been 2 days now since that problem started, "Generic Host Process for Win32" error message which ends with a little countdown rebooting your PC and it does it over and over and over. Something to do with the RCP service. For me, since I have a standard dial modem (56k) about a minute after I connect to the internet this message appears and I can't do shit about it......its VERY annoying. At first I thought it was some kind of system error I needed to fix, but everything I tried didn't work, so I started investigating on that crap. I found out it might be a virus, actualy I'm positive it is but Norton didn't detect it..... so it must be new

Your problem is a worm that your computer contracted as part of a security issue recently discovered in windows.
This link here should solve the problem...
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp
but if you have dail-up you'll have to remove the worm first.
So:
"Disconnect from the internet, or any networks you are attached to
Close port 135/tcp (and if possible 135-139, 445 and 593)
Remove this registry key - SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, name: 'windows auto update'
Delete the file msblast.exe
Install the patch.
Update your antivirus"
I just read all of this on the Eatpoo forums, so ALL thanks goes out to Dr.Bang and arcane there...
Hope this helps anyone. |

Thanks a lot guys =]
yep I just did all this procedure this morning, I was way too pissed last night and I think its fix now. One thing that made it harder for me was that I was unable to access the Window Task manager, as soon as I opened it, it was closing right away. But I fixed it, I had to delete the config code of the task manager in Regedit.exe to put them back to default.
I know shit about computers.....slowly learning and slowly forgetting about it all O_o _________________ I touch myself only where it counts |
