I just wasn't feeling well about the last version of "Lowtide." I have a theme that sometimes runs through my artwork - globes. It hit me that this picture needed the globes... Herewith:
Here are the other two

i agree... its absolutely beautiful, but the globes seem out of place, especially stylistically. without them though that chair seems too strong.
i guess each has pros and cons. |

My personal opinion is that your first one with the lighter sky is better. The darker one seems a bit too flat. ( maybe add a little contrast to your lighter one but not too much) Don't know what your aim is so this is just a general opinion. And about the globes. Yeah it looks out of place. At this point maybe a person siting on the chair would be nice. Creating a sense of loneliness. ( And again a general idea...not sure of your concept)
other than that a well done piece....love the detail of the grass and wharf _________________ Timo=)

Aaaaaaah .... not the globes! Run for your lives!!!
Seriously though, while I like how the reflection of the dock looks on the water. I imagine that it would need a stronger light source to create it, rather than the diffuse light provided by the oncoming storm clouds... _________________ Radiater |

The globes... actually more appropriately, orbs. They are from a reoccurring dream that I haven't had in years. They just stopped and I never really understood what they were about. But, they always left me with a wonderful sense of peace and well-being... so, periodically I try to resurrect them in my artwork, which I will continue doing. Maybe one day they'll enter my dreams once again. _________________ HonePie.com

try rendering the orbs better, it might work if they matched the quality of the rest of the image
taking another look, i'd say the lighter sky one is perfect by itself, but the darker sky one might need those orbs.... they complete the ominous feeling
i really love certain elements of each one |
