how do you create your own brushes in photoshop? I know it's possible, I just don't know how to do it.
Also, I don't mean creating your own brush by editing the preferences for a current one, I'm talking about creating one from scratch. Anyone know how?
Thanks.

Edit -> Define Brush. Tadaa! Its that easy. Ive made a lot of brushes. For scratches draw thin lines to paper and simply scan it. Thats just one way. There must be a million way to make great brushes. Scan everything! Lots of fun too.
Another things: Before you make the brush, you can define the right shape and size with a lasso tool for example. Adding contrast before the operation is usually a good thing too. |

I just remembered that some of those whacky poo eaters have a thread where you can download some brushes.

(this link works for EP's current redirect. It might stop working in the near future)
For some really unique brushes in PS 7, try making some Dual brushes.
Good luck,
