An attempt at adding a painted element tp a photo plate.
Any words of enlightenment on where to go from here?

it looks realy cool but it doesnt seem to fit, if you could make it look more blended into the photo that would be cool.

Ok it's good as a starting point (no obvious compsiting lines, but there are a few things that stand out to me:

1) Is the object saucer like in shape? if so, is it tilted toward the camera and if it is, shouldn't the part that is closest to the camera be slightly darker to account for less mist in front of it?

2) The wave at the base of the object. If it has just landed, there should be some motion blur in the object, if it hasn't then the water should be more consistent in colour.

3) The top of the object should still be greyed out / lightened slightly to set it properly into the distance.

You may also want to experiment with some film grain filters as the colouring of the surface of the object is too consistent (live footage/photographs always have slight variance in colour from pixel to pixel and depending on the source, this difference can be a lot more prominent.) By adding film grain, you will increase consistency between object and setting.

Hope this is of help and apologies if any of it sounds patronising
