I was about to say that Bob is silly because it's a JPG, and of course it has pixelated edges. Then I realized he's talking about the Flash file. Then I further realized that he's right. At first I only noticed some blurry jagginess in her nostril. But then I saw more on the edges of her arms, and finally saw jagged edges underneath the edge of her lips. It looks like there are semi-transparent vector shapes placed on top of a large raster image.

I don't at all doubt that this was done in AI10, and it's a very skillful piece regardless of what you did it in. Just wanted to ask for clarification on what's up with the Flash file, especially since all my previous efforts to import multiple AI objects into Flash have yeilded empty white shapes. Also, is there any particular reason her hair and clothing were not shaded with the same technique as her skin?

I want to end on something obviously positive: I really like this image.

B0b/sensei77: First i want to say thnx! =)

Okey. Lets make some things cleare =) Its all done in Adobe Illustrator 10. Its alla Vector. BUT! When i convert it to flash (Using Adobes own converter in Illustrator 10) its converts the "gradient" areas into .jpg. This is becouse Flash cant handle mesh-areas done by Illustrator. It has something to do with the postscript level or something =/ i dont really know =( So this is why it gets "jagged" edges. And no! Its not jpg ontop of vector.

This is rather intresting. Its not many out there doing vector images at this high level. I know there are some impressive work out there. But not many knows it.

My homepage is in swedish, but i can still show the tutorial im working on. I will translate it to eng soon. And maybe then u can se how i work. I will also post another image done in vector.

Tutorial:
http://www.nitzdesign.com/company/tutorials_vector.php

Pls give it some comments. And pls do ask questions. I love to give u all some help. And maybe i can se some other vector art ? =)

JPG version: (if u dont have flash)

Flash version: (OBS! its almost 1Mb)
