Ive been staring at this thing for a week on and off, and its starting to look neither right nor wrong, which makes me think that its time to get some outside input. Please rip this painting apart. Everything is up for an attack from the proportions to the color choices. Its not close to finished. The nose probably is the closest to done. Its supposedly going to be underlit, and the background will... well, there will be one, and not neccessarily in that color. Also, I know i need better eyebrows, and eyelashes, and that the right side of the face is fuzzy. Anything else, fire away. Thanks.

well, i think the color scheme on the face is kinda bland. Get more contrast in there! I always find that when doing an underlit pic, u need very different shades inorder to make it look like its underlit. Get some dark darks and light lights. And about the bg, i understand that u may change it, but, i say change it no matter what. And i also sugest making it darker. But that also has to do with what kinda mood ur goin for. and one moooore thing, work on the guys hair a bit.
but other than all that the face is proportioned correctly and i dont really see anything really wrong wit the eyebrows, but they still need alil work onacounter of this not bein finished.
oh and another thing - when ur beginning a pic, it helps to put down all the colors to everything that will be in the pic. This makes the process easier IMO. _________________ -Chase |

Thanks for the tips. Ive actually got a color palette in painter
Someone told me the left eyebrow and the nose are off. Does anyone agree? They told me the nose was very spherical looking, and that the eyebrow was positioned incorrectly. |

you've actually done really well so far, it's pretty tough to draw a face at this angle. i would say that you would not be able to really see the nostril on the right (his left), so the perspective of the nost might be off. |

this is really nice so far.
i think the nosetrill should be a lot bigger from this angle. how is he going to pick his nose? ;]
the mouth seems off to our left. the rest of the face suggests more to the right. the middle if the mouth should be lined up under the middle of the nose at the same angle, in your drawing, the mouth is at a strange angle, like he is "squinting" his lips to the side. (squinting is for the eyes, im not sure how to say that for the lips.)
the ear could also use some angle tweaking, counterclockwise.
hope this helps.
keep it up |

It's not really a problem in this pic (which is coming along nicely, btw.), but composition and proportions typically come out better if you work on the whole image at the same time, instead of fully finishing one item (eye/nose/head/whatever) and then moving on to the next one... _________________ Visionbin |
