I'm new to art, and this is my first time at using the WACOM tablet. It's also the first time I've attempted to draw in about a year.

I'm struggling at the mo with blending the shading, the lips also seem wrong and I'm just stuck. This is about an hours work as well, and I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take me that long to accomplish what I have. I know its wrong, but I cant pick out how and where.

You should probably start with something less complicated than a face.
Take all the time you need to get it right! Don't tell yourself you should be able to work faster.
Speed will come with practice. Try not to rely on lines too much. Define the forms with values.
Read tutorials and threads.
Use reference (in case you didn't)

This is a good place to start ... maybe you saw the sticky thread?
