Hey everyone. I wanted to see if there was anyone here who wanted to hook up and work on a game. I have a design here plus some preliminary artwork and the engine to base it upon. Its a good engine and can go somewhat high poly. Working on getting a publishing deal right now and have some leads but need to get to more stable ground first. My influences are the Marathon series and specifically the artwork of Craig Mullins so I thought I would visit this board since he referenced it on his website. So if anyone is interested shoot me a reply ok? Have a great day, morning, afternoon, night wherever you are at!

I have a few questions.
1. What is your background? programmer, etc..
2. Have you worked in the game biz before?
3. Is it a commercial engine, or something that you made.
Just wondering.
If you are recruiting for something serious you should have a web site that describes the project and the current teams experience. |

Background is Business End , I worked for a high tech company which was subsequently purchased by Mentor Graphics doing some database development and other duties. My main background lies in terms of games with story development and testing (which I did back in the late 90's). In terms of overall, I do work with VCs and have served on the Board of Trustees for a major college district in Saratoga/Santa Clara CA making financial, employment, and contract decisions. Commercial engine it is, the gamebryo engine. We did have a website, however, we did not feel it was up to the quality we wanted. Just know that the people working on this have worked for companies ranging from Microsoft to Oracle to Sega. I can't go into some specifics with names as some people still have positions elsewhere. If you would like to find out more info though feel free to email me and I can send you an executive summary of the business as well as our project overview for Reprisal.

Thanks for the info. Email sent.
Gamebryo didnt sound familiar so I visisted the web site. NetImmerse changed the name in March, I know that name
I have read so many posts asking people to join a team, usually on other web sites, I just have to get more info. I have no interest in working with a team of teenagers with an idea and nothing more. |

Definitely understand where you are coming from. That happens far too often. Any interest on this board? And how do people feel about this site possibly closing? Sucks for me because I just found this board and it looks good. Well if anyone else is interested I look forward to hearing from 'em.

***** UPDATE ******

1st our host had some problems and our site went bye bye which was a big problem.
2nd Yes we are ... graphically superior, of course, but yes Marathon is a big inspiration. By the way Craig Mullins chapter screens from the game should be inspiration for all.

To add on to the last reply, we are still looking for some talented individuals and I would like to show off smoke work here that artists on our team have done. So here ya go:

I should have another one from our team that we can show off in a day or so. For the mean time check the cruddy little website I created that desperately needs some life support, so if anyone wants a project heh

To quote the ancient wise man Sean "Puff Diddy" Combs
"Can I get ... a Bump Bump Bump"
Anyone care to see some more artwork?
Would that get more people interested in the project?

I think people want to know what type of skills you are currently looking for, how much work we're talking about, and yeah, some more art work would be cool. _________________ http://jcaart.cjb.net |

Hmm this sounds interesting to someone like me who is still pre-entry-level. I have some questions but I reckon I'll just send you an email since this post has been here awhile and you might not be still checking this board. |

I'd love to work for someone who isn't a teenager for a change as well... I'm supposed to be working for 2 others, but they both don't give me clear orders (I hate it when all my work's been for nothing except practice) and aren't doing much themselves as far as I know.
I know, I know, I'm a teen myself... But I'll try to get some work done to show off, I need to model more anyway. |
