I did this a few days ago. it's basically my girlfriend. I made a flat (colored all in photoshop) and a shaded version (colored in painter). I'm not really sure which i prefer, so i'm putting them both up.

they are both very nice, but i personally prefer the painter version. the shading and highlights are very nice, and also it has more life.

you could have easily done the same job in photoshop without switching over to painter tho hehe...

true.. but I prefer the 'feel' of painter's brushes and the blending tools over photoshop's.

I prefer the first one no end.
The shading in the second one looks too false -- not an integral part of the image, doesn't not look like parts of her are in shadow -- no offence.
the first one is much nicer in my opinion.

I like the first one.
It would make for a really good animation style.
The shading doesn't fit with the cartoony feel of the drawing.
