Hello,
I'll be taking the forums down in about 2-3 hours for however long it takes to move over to the new servers (graciously provided by the kind people at www.creationstorm.com) I'd estimate the down time to just be a couple days... not much more than that. check my website for updates if the downtime lasts longer than that (http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/mainscreen.html)
When we come back things should be a nice bit faster and posting a mesage wont take 12 years.

Still no luck > debug mode = on
it's some strange error with the groups table, thats for sure. still no idea how to fix it

OK.  that was 8 hours of straight night work, I think it's working, I successfully registered 5 accounts so I hope that's fixed, please check this before opening up again.
What I did. I reinstalled phpbb from scratch using the latest version from phpbb.com, then dumped 250mb's of data from the old database table by table and inserted them table by table.. a hell of a job but it looks like things payed off.
Dhab and Allen, please double check that everything is working like it's supposed to...
