Well, I'm new to these parts. And I have to say, I've been looking around at some surrealist stuff, some of the things on this site, and also a lot of J. Dillon's work, and, well, I'm inspired all over again!!!
Yay!!!!
So, since I have this great new idea for a piece, I also have one question:
How might it look if some sort of infrared laser were passing through a balloon? I'm wondering how the light might be diffused and distorted, if at all.
Thanks a lot! _________________ I'm a hunter-----I'm going hunting |

Do you mean 'red laser' or 'infrared laser'. Infrared isn't visbile to the naked eye.
In any case, your best test is to get your torch or a pocket laser pointer and find a balloon. There is no substitute for real life reference. I would say that a balloon would diffuse and scatter light around inside itself fairly well.. but mainly dependent on the light intensity and the size of the light point as it enters and exits. You may also want to check out if refraction (bending of light) applies to this... maybe if the balloon had a particlar gas like helium it may actually bend the light. But.. my guess is that it would be so insignificant that you could just ignore any refraction.
Hope that helps. |

thanks a lot for all that. If I can get my hands on a laser pointer, then you're right, I'll try some real-life stuff. _________________ I'm a hunter-----I'm going hunting |
