I hate to think I have to go and set the presets on my favorite new brush everytime I want to use that brush!
How can I save them, so that each time I select that brush it remembers the settings?
Thanks,

That one had me going for a while. Step one, of course, is to create then define the brush. I presume this is where you've gotten to.
Now, go and use the controls to set all the parameters for jitter, scatter, color etc., to where you want it. From the same brush window (as opposed to the one that only appears when you select the brush tool) that has all the controls, click and hold on the arrow in a circle at the top right to produce the pull down menu, and choose "New Brush." The new Brush will be defined by this brush you have just created. A bit odd, as it creates first a brush with no parameters, and then then adjusted version, so you probably now want to delete the first version. You can then use the presets manager, from the same window, and move the brushes where they are more convenient for you. _________________ www.thomasluth.com |

That totally makes sense, but what a convoluted route to save your brush settings...
It seems they should have a "save brush settings" button! _________________ tldenmark

If you hold the cursor over over an unused portion of the brush preset palette, the cursor will change to a bucket, just click and the preset is saved there.
What I think is a little strange is you cannot change a preset once it is saved. You have to save another one. There probably is a way, just don't know it. Use the preset manager to move the brushes into some kind of order. You can shift click to speed things up a little.
And be sure to save the brush set, as I have had all changes lost on quit.
Anyone know how to tweak a brush once it is saved and have the change stick without the save new, preset manager, delete, move blablalalal |

That would make too much sense. _________________ den.vvulf |

Thanks, Tom Luth and Spooge, you've revolutionized my use of photoshop! It's incredibly easy to dump the paintbucket to a new brush. You can even delete the old one from the brush pallette without having to go to Preset Manager. _________________ tldenmark
