Hey Dhabih,

I was just wondering if the pay is any good for 2/3D comp game artists..

You don't have to reveal how much you earn of course, but would you recomend that someone pursue a career in this field moneywise?

Depending on what industry you work for the money ranges from good to GREAT! There are a ton of opportunities out there for 2d/3d artists... (as Dhab had pointed out in a response to an almost identical question)

Everyone has to start somewhere if they want to get into game-biz....whenever it pays well or not. Not many big game-firms would want to hire a graphician without 3-5+ years of experience. So....start in the small and climb the ladder is probably the only way to big $$

It really depends on which company you go and work for and your position. Some companies pay ok, while others pay real well. But i think overall its still a pretty good paying field. (This is a educated guess, cause i haven't had that much exposure to different markets yet)

To be honest, if you working in games is dependent on the money then go do something else. You've got to want to do it no matter what the cash reward may be, the fact that the money is good is just a bonus...
