Sup all I'm new to this board and have just recently gained some interest into CG art. My question is which pad do you guys recommend? It seems to my that most of you guys favor the 6x8 Intuos. I found it priced at $260 is that a good deal? Or are the Calcomp boards any good? Also I figure some of you have a cracked copy of Photoshop...do the boards or addons seem to give you any trouble?
Thanks

I doubt you'll have any trouble so long as the hardware is legit and the drivers are running ok. (can't help you with the pricing, I'm on the far side of the planet)

It is kind of a testament to the great code in programs like Photoshop and Painter(newer ones); they can take all sorts of punishment and are very modular yet still run pretty well (although Phtotshop 5.0 is a bit of a resource hog; I dunno how 5.5 is). This also makes them very easy to warez.
Cst la vie

dont buy any pad yet, first check out how to draw stuff and try some of the tutorials so when you get the pad its not that hard to start drawing with it, and 6x8 intuos is the best choise, and i would buy from buy.com (got really nice price there and cheap fast shipping). Not pads nor addons gave me any trouble

buying a tablet is a sign of some commitment.
however the copy of Photoshop is obtained, in this case there is a good chance it won't just be used to make '133t filter art duude'.
I'm being pretty presumptuous I guess. but here's hoping
