Well, I like both images but the background seems to have been worked on much less as opposed to Ryu. It's logical since Ryu is the interesting character there but the whole image is being thrown off balance I guess.
In the second image I really like how Ryu looks, it's like cell-shaded stuff but I think you should also add hightlighted areas on the head (if the light source lights up the shoulder and arm in such a way the then the light should also be doing something to the head eh?).
Ending I would very much like to see a version that's all digital. Oh and, enjoy Ninja Gaiden. |

You are looking for critique but you've posted your work in the "Finished/Gallery" section. I would suggest posing it in the WIP section.
I would suggest doing some clean-up work. Blend your colors more smoothly (whether on paper or digitally). Also, only having the Ryu inked distracts from the rest of the picture, you may want to ink the rest or edit the ink from him.

i agree with the blending comments. i need to do more of that in both art styles. i inked ryu to purposely make him stand out but i guess it didnt turn out like i had hoped. this piece is finished. i just figured i'd get some crits on it for future artworks. i dont plan on going back into this piece. thanks for all the comments, they were highly appreciated

heh, i had all three roms but the third one was messed up! i gotta find a clean ninja gaiden 3 rom somewhere
