Here's one I did when I started out. I did this one about 6-7 months ago.
The illustration is of a D&D style troll. I had a bit of a problem with the background. I've been struggling since to find a style. Please let me know what you think of the pic, regardless if you have seen it, or don�t like it. I've found that any crit helps.

its a quite nice picture good muscles and expressions.

I have a tip: when using a green color over a big area try using more kinds of green tones that would make the picture alot more interesting.

you could also play around with different shadings, like adding a more purple shading with yellow-ish higlights.

Thanks for the tips Merlyns; they will definitely help me out. I get to focussed on the main color and shading and forget about all the tones.

I think you have posted this one earlier, I can swear that I have seen it from you earlier, was it in the Work in progress? ..hmm, anyways.
yeah what merlyns said and also, you can add clothing and also some kind of rope on his arms which usually helps to define the form on the arms, you know Feng zhu�s stuff don�t you? he uses stripes and ropes and stuff on the arms.
