i have a pile of lineart filled with solid colour at a fairly decent res and i need to get them into flash as vector. i dont know flash at all but i heard it can convert raster to vector in the program itself. i can vectorise lineart allready but it involves illustrator and colouring in illustrator and then importing them into flash but i heard that kinda affects everything and i hate colouring in illustrator, id rather do it all in PS and import it and convert it if i can. anyone know how? i looked through the menus but the whole thing is pretty intimidating. i dont know what version it is but its called flashmx, any help would be appreciated!!! thanks! hugz!

in the future ill draw directly in flash but i couldnt this time.

This will pull the image into Flash as a raster

1. Menu: File->Import
2. Select image file, click Open

Next you...

3. Select the raster in the flash scene
4. Menu: Modify->Trace Bitmap
5. A dialog will appear, click "Ok" to convert raster to vector

You may have to play with the settings in the dialog to get exactly the result you want

Hope this helped.

The problem with using flash to vectorise a bitmap is that it's very difficult to get anything usefull out the other end - unless your intent is to use it in flash its self.

Streamline's your best bet.

Though it should be noted that niether are perfect.
