Wow! You've done some great stuff in the past but I this is my favourite by far.
Shouldn't you be working on B&W2 or something? Lionhead is clearly not keeping you busy enough! ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Wowzers! Did you use any photographic textures or did you paint directly onto the 3d work in a normal paint program? I must say that the rock texture is incredible! _________________ Tim Davis

interesting!
unfortunately the houses looks like miniatures. It's probably because the textures of the rocks are too..hmm small. (the scale is too big)
Also the top part of the rock looks a bit blurred taking away the realism, perhaps from a stretched texture?
I'm curious, are you painting with patterns? |

I like the merging of methods here, it's carried across very effectively.
I agree with Binke's comment about the scale. I think it might be because we don't see the horizon line and assume that the rocks at the bottom slope close to the riders, hence perhaps some confusion about scale.
btw, I didn't know you were working for Lionhead, that's pretty awesome! It's a nice part of the country, too. |

Not your best, in my opinion.
Not by a fair way. That's not to say it's not good
It's really good. It looks more like you've painted textures than you've painted over that render in a 2d envormonemt. I find this not very intersting to look at, but since you were supplied with the material to work with, that's hardly your doing.
It's obviously very 'impressive'
edit: looking agin I think i find the colour palette a little weird for a photorealistic/matte painting. the big bloom on the left included. |

Holy crap you're getting good :] Been spying on your later pictures, here and there, and you're really progressing.
This might not be my favourite of yours - but I see a LOT of really interesting stuff in it. _________________ furiae.com |
