Hi, I'm having trouble here. I made the mistake of starting to draw without first planning out the figure's form. Then later on I had to spend hours tinkering around. It still looks off, I suspect the right foot is turned too extreme, and the left is placed too close to the same level.

The second image shows the the result of a few hours of rendering. The third shows where I am right now. I decided to move the light source higher and slightly back. And I made the shadows heavier. My problem is, that I just don't understand light that well, and I'm having some problems picturing in my head how the shadows should fall. Especially on the legs (you may notice I haven't done much with the right leg yet). I'm really frustrated now, because I'm not sure what to do.

What I want is a solid looking figure. I'd appreciate if you could give me some tips on the shadows, and explain to me what I'm doing wrong. It would also be great if you could tell me what is wrong with the legs. I'd rather he didn't look like he's going to fall over. Paint/Draw overs are welcome. Thanks!

I don't know much about fabricating shadow, so I won't pretend to. But when all else fails, grab a (digital) camera and try model the kind of light you want, and then use the resulting pictures for reference.

I think if he was haunched over more it would give a better sense of balance.

Cool sketch, I like em.
