Starting a new picture inspired by Doc Scott's Tokyo Dawn. I can't draw from my head, so had to use a reference.

Here is the line work with the construction lines.

Please comment and crit on anatomy.. Need help with right arm. Thanks a bundle. Will post progress day by day.

It's a really cool idea.

Your right arm is in trouble because it's not long enough. It needs to be a couple more "inches". I know that's an awquard angle to accomplish.

Take a photo of yourself doing that pose, and look at the lighting. That's what is playing really hard against you picture right now.

I like it.

Egads you are right!!! Very Happy Thanks dude. The problem is even more noticeable when I blocked the colours. Does she look a little on the cubby side?

Tried fixing the arms, enlarged the hands now it looks ok. Start work on the background, but it just doesn't look like a good background. Need some help with that.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Right hand will be re-drawn. Coloured roughly, will re-colour. Just wanted to see how it'd look. That right arm is giving me some serious trouble.

Yeah I'm kind of stuck. I'm not sure how to go about the sky. I've never really painted any environments before, so I don't know how to make the sky look more realistic.. boo urns, I feel like giving up on this.. Have tried different ideas, but they all look so flat.

maybe the reason you can't get the sky to look right is because its a little empty. likewise for the sand i think too. for instance try adding some of those little black V shapes in for seaguls etc and for the sky itself use several different shades of blue and blend them together with lighter at the top (or bottom.. makes no difference really) and the darker sky at the opposite end. add something on the sand perhaps too.... i always find things easier to colour when there are less open spaces. hope that helps. i like ths style of shading on the girls head too btw.
